EL CAJON, CA – Shadow Mountain Church held their Prison Ministry’s Messenger of Love, including their Annual Festival of Art on Friday, November 1st, 2019 and East County Transitional Living Center was happy to attend.

The Annual Festival of Art features “a beautiful collection of artwork from those impacted by incarceration, including those behind the walls,” according to Shadow Mountain Church’s website. This portion of the event showcased items such as jewelry, drawings, paintings, hand carvings and a variety of work that was provided by inmates. The event announcement stated “This is a great evening of praise & celebration for anyone who has a heart for ministering to those impacted by incarceration. Join us for a wonderful evening of fellowship, music, testimony, food and spiritual uplifting.”

Harold Brown, ECTLC CEO and President, and his wife Jacky attended the event alongside several ECTLC staff members. The event was held at the Event Center of Shadow Mountain church. Attendees also enjoyed a performance from the group Classic Praise, with selections of both Praise and Worship and Christmas music.

In addition to the art showcase and performances, awards were presented by Tom Heyer, the ministry leader. Heyer also introduced representatives of supporters and partnering non-profits in the audience.

Shadow Mountain Church’s Prison Ministry is an outreach program for men and women who are in prison, those recently released from prison and for the families and children whose loved ones are currently incarcerated. According to their website, “The primary emphasis of the prison ministry is regular contact with inmates, parolees, and family members…It is an opportunity to stretch your faith and be a source of real blessing and encouragement to men, women, and children who have been affected by crime.”
